The Missoni Catwalk (via Artemis Adornments)

I must reblog the original. Love Missoni!

The Missoni Catwalk Last year's Autmn Collection was much more structured, with clever geometric shapes, tailoring and detail. Now we're going back to drape and lots of it. Cowls, cowls and cowls, extra long scarves, fine-knit sweaters. Big hats or snug cloches and lovely lacy legwear. Marvelous. The Student Bank Account in a loop, maybe a Mobius? … Read More

JOHN GALLIANO TAKES FALL COUTURE 2010 DIOR TO THE GARDEN.

GALLIANO IS ONCE AGAIN A GENIUS. NO NEED FOR HALLUCINOGEN’S. ITS REAL. FOR THE FALL COUTURE 2010 CHRISTIAN DIOR COLLECTION. GALLIANO THOUGHT IT BEST TO SHOW YOU WHAT A TRUE FLOWER GARDEN SHOULD LOOK LIKE. AND BOY, DID HE CREATE A SHOWSTOPPER OF A GARDEN.

FROM THE OVERSIZED TULIPS TO THE OUTER SHELL OF A DAISY TO THE DEEP DEPTHS OF THE PANSY. I LEAVE YOU WITH THESE PHOTOS OF PERFECTION.

A PARTIAL REVIEW FROM STYLE.COM

In an Edenic fashion world, this would be the daywear that would fully complement evening dresses of an extraordinary dimension—gigantic domes of tulle overlaid with gloriously colored swags of organza. On the opening day of the Paris couture, the casual insolence of the draped one-shoulder outfit that closed the show was a provocation. “Beat this,” it declared.

GORGEOUS AS EVER. THE COUTURE FALL 2010 GIVENCHY LINE. DELICIOUS.

I DONT THINK I NEED TO SAY MUCH ABOUT RICARDO TISCI AND HIS ABILITY TO WOW THE MASSES WITH HIS INSANE DESIGNS. THIS LINE IS A JAW DROPPING, YET SMALL COLLECTION OF COUTURE FINERY AT ITS BEST. ALTHOUGH, I DO FEEL LIKE IT IS VERY VERY SIMILAR TO ALEXANDER MCQUEENS FALL RTW 2010 LINE.  I STILL THINK RICARDO DID CREATE MASTERPIECES ON THIS COLLECTION. AND BECAUSE, IT IS SO GREAT. I SAY NO MORE.

NOW ONLY IF I COULD GET MY HANDS ON ONE OF THESE PIECES AT LET’S SAY. GOODWILL.   L.O.L    I KNOW.

BURBERRY PRORSUM FALL RTW 2010 TAKES A JACKET TO A NEW LEVEL.

BURBERRY PRORSUM’S CHRISTOPHER BAILEY MAKES THIS BOY VERY VERY HAPPY.  HAVING GROWN UP IN THE COLD WILD WINTERS OF THE NORTHWEST I’VE BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO THE LAYERING. THE WRAPS. THE SCARVES. THE LONG JOHNS. BUT, WHAT I WAS MISSING WAS A BIT OF THIS CURRENT FALL RTW 2010 LINE’S GENIUS.

WE ALL KNOW THAT LAYERING ISN’T ALL THAT ATTRACTIVE. BUT, WHAT ABOUT WRAPPING YOURSELF IN A DESIGN THAT YOU WOULDN’T WANT TO TAKE OFF. OR THE FACT THAT I HAVE TO HAVE THIS JACKET NOW THAT I AM IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. AM I INSANE??  YOU BE THE JUDGE. DONT SAY I DIDN’T PROVE YOU WRONG.

GORGEOUS!!!  EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE.

NEUTRAL TAKES ON DRIES VAN NOTEN RTW FALL 2010

His collection was a serene piecing-together of classic menswear tailoring, washed-out military fabric, fifties and sixties ladylike shapes, and sweatshirting. The success was that he integrated all those elements in such simple, wearable ways that didn’t scream “fashion.” In almost every silhouette, there was a juxtaposition of something grand with something street. Jackets would have a tailored body with army-drill sleeves; a gray sweatshirt-material top would be worn over a rich brocade dirndl; a full-skirted shirtwaister would come in blue military fabric with a small turn-down collar unexpectedly embroidered with silver Indian thread. For evening, the most compelling look was the offhand shrugging on of a sloppy khaki knit over a long, slim magenta printed skirt dragging a small, romantic train.
